From 1 January 2023, both unmarried and non-registered partners will automatically acquire parental authority together with the mother, if they recognize the child. It will no longer be necessary to register parental authority with the court.<\/p>\n

This only applies to children who are recognized from 1 January 2023; for children who have been recognized earlier than this date, joint custody must still be registered through the court. If the mother does not give permission for this, an application for joint custody must be submitted to the court.
