Legal Determination of Paternity

If your child has no legal father, then the paternity of the father can be determined judicially at the request of the mother or the child. The legal father will then be obligated to provide care and maintenance support for the child, and the child and the father become each other’s heirs. The judicial determination will not have any effect on custody of the child. Paternity is determined by means of a judicial procedure in which the parental relationship between father and child is established. You will need a lawyer; Franssen Advocaten can assist you with this.
